Cai Xinxin

Cai Xinxin is an Assistant Professor at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Department of Physics. She holds a Ph.D. in Physics from The Pennsylvania State University (2016) and has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Rochester (2020-2024) and University of Minnesota (2017-2020).

• Education: Ph.D. in Physics (Penn State University, 2009-2016), B.S. in Applied Physics (University of Science and Technology of China, 2004-2008)

Dr. Cai's research focuses on experimental condensed matter physics and quantum information processing, utilizing nanofabrication techniques to investigate quantum effects in micro- and nanoscale devices. Her recent work emphasizes coherent control of silicon-based spin qubits and spin quantum device dynamics.

Publications highlight advancements in semiconductor quantum dots, spin qubit manipulation, and quantum coherence. Her lab actively recruits Ph.D. students, master’s students, and postdoctoral researchers to advance these projects.
