Caglar Koksal

Dr. Caglar Koksal is a Lecturer in Urban Planning at the University of Manchester, where he serves as Programme Director for both the Master of Planning (MPlan) and Master of Planning and Real Estate (MPRE) programmes. His research focuses on spatial planning, urban policy and governance, and health creation through evidence-based approaches.

Research interests center on three interconnected areas: spatial planning practices in England, urban policy analysis against frameworks of spatial justice, and health creation/health inequities in urban environments. Recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on urban sustainability and health equity, with articles exploring neighborhood planning, biodiversity integration in development, and health-oriented urban governance. Methodologies span quantitative spatial analysis and qualitative policy evaluation.
