Crișan Daniela Alexandra is an Associate Professor with a PhD at the Faculty of Managerial Informatics, Romanian-American University. She has taught programming courses since 1997 and contributed to over 15 national/international research projects. She holds a BSc in Computer Science (University of Bucharest, 1997), an MSc in Stochastic Processes (1998), and a PhD in Automatic Control (Politehnica University of Bucharest, 2005), with a thesis on fractal techniques in image processing.
Her research focuses on fractal geometry applications in medical imaging (e.g., tumor classification via fractal dimension analysis) and financial instability modeling. She has also studied IT&C’s role in innovation across European economies, funded by projects like CNCSIS, ANSTI, CEEX, and PNCDI II. Internationally, she participated in FP7 projects (e.g., FUPOL, HeERO) and CEF Transport/INEF/sAFE.
She organized the International Conference 'E-Society', edits the JOURNAL OF SYSTEMS INFORMATION & MANAGEMENT OPERATION, and coordinates the RAUCoder contest. Administrative roles include serving on URA’s Senate (2004–2012), 13 years as Scientific Secretary of her faculty, and ongoing membership in the Faculty Council.
Her work spans medical imaging, financial modeling, and IT innovation, with over 60 publications and 11 books in computer programming. She has been a visiting professor at 10+ universities and actively contributes to academic governance and professional organizations.
