CHAN Wei Xuan Timothy

CHAN Wei Xuan Timothy is a Sheridan Fellow at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore. He holds an LLM from Harvard Law School and an LLB (Hons) from NUS, and is currently pursuing a doctorate at Harvard focusing on property theory and private law theory. His research bridges traditional legal doctrines with emerging technologies, particularly in cryptoassets, blockchain, and digital property rights.

Before joining academia, he practiced commercial litigation with a focus on banking disputes and joint venture conflicts. His work has been published in leading journals such as the Modern Law Review and Legal Studies, and cited by the UK Law Commission.

Timothy teaches Equity & Trusts at NUS and contributes to debates on technology law, fiduciary duties, and property theory. His recent publications analyze cryptoasset regulation, DeFi frameworks, and NFT legalities, reflecting his commitment to addressing contemporary legal challenges posed by digital innovation.
