C.H. Venner

Prof. Dr. Ir. C.H. Venner is a full professor and chair of the Engineering Fluid Dynamics Group and the Thermal Fluid Engineering Department at the University of Twente. His expertise spans fluid dynamics, lubrication, aerodynamics, and aeroacoustics, with a focus on sustainable technology and environmental impact reduction. He leads research on lubrication optimization, drop-on-demand technology, wind turbine noise reduction, and biomedical fluid mechanics collaborations with hospitals.

Education: PhD in 1991 from the University of Twente, followed by postdoc positions at the Weizmann Institute and Imperial College London. Academic leadership includes coordinating Me-MSc tracks in Aeronautics and Energy & Flow, and leading a double-degree program with ITA Brazil.

Research interests emphasize sustainable energy solutions, including wind turbine design, noise reduction, and advanced material development. Awards include the Brinksma Innovation Grant for his 'twin teaching' method, fostering student engagement through collaborative classrooms.
