Margot Hennessy is a Professor and Coordinator of the Multicultural and Ethnic Studies Program at Westfield State University. She has been instrumental in shaping the Ethnic and Gender Studies department since joining in 2002, advocating for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary educational practices. Her academic affiliations include prior teaching roles at Clark University and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Hennessy’s research focuses on African American and postcolonial literature, alongside critical explorations of anti-oppressive pedagogies and whiteness construction. She has taught courses on queer studies, the School to Prison Pipeline, and theoretical frameworks connecting literature to cultural analysis.
