Bénédicte Apouey

Bénédicte Apouey is a Research Professor at the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and a Professor at Paris School of Economics (PSE) since December 2012. She previously served as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida from 2009 to 2012.

Her work examines how socioeconomic factors influence health outcomes and how citizen engagement can shape effective public policies. She has particular expertise in analyzing the intersections between health, food systems, and climate change, with a regional focus on Europe (particularly France and the UK).

Bénédicte Apouey holds several important external roles that complement her academic work:

• Member of the Committee of Specialised Experts in Socio-economic Analysis of the National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (Anses)
• Vice-President of the 'Culex and impacts' Working Group
• Member of the Scientific Support Committee for the Solidarity Food Bank of the 20th arrondissement of Paris
• Member of various citizen conventions including the Convention citoyenne tram nord and the Convention citoyenne pour le climat
