Dr. Bálint VARGA is a Senior University Assistant at the Andrássy University of Budapest, affiliated with the Doctoral College for Central European History. His academic journey includes postgraduate studies in History, Eastern European History, and Political Science (International Relations) at Budapest and Heidelberg (2001–2006), followed by an MA in History from Central European University (2007) and a joint doctorate from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and Loránd Eötvös University Budapest (2013).
He served as a Research Associate at the Institute of History of the Center for Humanities, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2013–2022), before joining Karl-Franzens University of Graz as an Assistant at the Institute of History in 2022. His research focuses on Central European history, with a particular emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches at the intersection of historical studies and international relations.
