Byron Suber is a Senior Lecturer at Cornell University's Department of Performing and Media Arts, with affiliations to the College of Arts and Sciences. Originally from New Orleans, LA, he has been active in dance, theater, and interdisciplinary research since the 1980s.

His research bridges dance studies, architectural history, and cultural theory, focusing on intersections between carceral spaces and embodied performance, modernist ideologies in Western concert dance, and global spatial identities in cinema. He has collaborated with MIT on digital media projects and developed a summer program in Performance and Media Studies across Europe.
