معرفی
Byron Erath is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Clarkson University's Coulter School of Engineering & Applied Sciences. His research focuses on fluid mechanics related to laryngeal aerodynamics of voiced speech, combining experimental fluid dynamics techniques (e.g., particle image velocimetry) with computational modeling to study vocal fold dynamics and vocal pathologies. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from Purdue University and a B.S. from Brigham Young University.
Research interests include unsteady viscous flow behavior in pulsatile environments, vocal fold collision mechanics, and biomedical applications of fluid-structure-acoustic interactions. His work aims to improve diagnosis and treatment of vocal disorders through advanced modeling and experimental validation.
Publications span fluid dynamics, biomechanics, and medical engineering, with recent contributions to pressure field estimation and vocal fold contact pressure sensing technologies. He maintains an active research website at https://sites.clarkson.edu/byron-erath/.
