Buvaneshwaran Venugopal

Buvaneshwaran Venugopal (Eshwar) is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the College of Business, University of Central Florida. He is a financial economist specializing in empirical corporate and entrepreneurial finance, leveraging machine learning and natural language processing techniques in his research.

His research interests span a broad range of topics including corporate governance, climate and environmental risk, debt contracting, labor unions, venture capital, angel investing, FinTech, blockchain, and decentralized finance. He investigates how incentive mechanisms, social networks, technology, and environmental factors impact business decisions and financial outcomes.

His recent publications appear in high-quality journals such as Review of Corporate Finance Studies, Financial Management, Research Policy, and World Bank Economic Review.
