Dr. Burcu ER is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts Illumination at Kafkas University's Faculty of Fine Arts. She holds a PhD in Traditional Turkish Arts from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University (2023) and has an extensive background in illumination, miniature, and binding techniques. Her academic journey includes a Master's and BA in Traditional Turkish Handicrafts from Atatürk University.

Her research focuses on Traditional Turkish Arts, particularly illumination, miniature, and bookbinding. She has published extensively on Quranic manuscript decoration, stylistic analysis (e.g., Münhani, Khatayi), and Ottoman-era art. Her recent works include studies on Bavarian State Library manuscripts and Seljuk-era illumination styles.
Notable collaborations include co-authoring 3 publications with Pınar Toktaş and 1 with Serpil Müftüoğlu. She has participated in 11 artistic events, including international exhibitions such as the "World Art 3rd International Mixed Exhibition" (2023) and "EU ExART 2nd International Mixed Exhibition" (2023). Her student advising includes Serpil Müftüoğlu's thesis on 14th-century Quran manuscripts.
