Burak UZAL

Burak UZAL is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Abdullah Gul University, where he served as founding Department Head (2013-2023). He holds a Ph.D. in Construction Materials from Middle East Technical University, specializing in natural pozzolans. His research includes visiting positions at Georgia Institute of Technology (2013-2014, 2023-2024) focusing on low-carbon cements and 3D printing optimization.

Research interests center on eco-efficient cementitious systems, natural pozzolans, cement microstructure, and sustainability assessment of construction materials. His work addresses global challenges of carbon emissions from construction industry through innovative material solutions.

UZAL leads significant projects including TUBITAK-funded research on eco-efficient superplasticizers (2019-2022) and nanoparticle-enhanced blended cements (2013-2015). He maintains an extensive publication record in construction materials science.
