Bumsoo Lee

Bumsoo Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research examines urban spatial organization, sustainable transportation, and land use interactions, with a focus on policy impacts and demographic trends.

He holds a Ph.D. in Planning from the University of Southern California, an MCP from Seoul National University, and a B.S. in Urban Planning from Hanyang University.

Research interests include transportation-land use feedback loops, urban form impacts on travel behavior, sustainable mobility solutions, and demographic influences on urban systems. His work often integrates quantitative modeling to assess environmental and equity outcomes.

Publications demonstrate a consistent focus on transit efficiency, urban accessibility, and climate impacts, with recent studies analyzing millennial mobility patterns, transit-oriented development, and pedestrian infrastructure.
