Buket ACARTÜRK

Prof. Buket ACARTÜRK is a full-time Professor at Sakarya University's Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, specializing in the Ceramics and Glass Department. She leads academic programs teaching courses including Artistic Design Workshop, Project Design, and Experimental Firing Techniques at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Her research explores ceramic material science with focus areas spanning:

• Innovative material formulations using mineral additives like olivine and perlite
• Industrial ceramic production optimization and defect analysis
• Historical and artistic studies of porcelain traditions
• Alternative firing techniques and glaze development

She maintains active artistic practice through international ceramic exhibitions and competitions.

She has received notable honors including the Sakarya University Science Art Incentive Award (2010) and international recognition at the Zvartava International Ceramic Symposium (Latvia, 2018).

Academic leadership includes:

• Supervision of 16 completed Master's theses on ceramic materials and design
• Principal investigator for research grants including 'Vitrifiye Seramik Üretiminde Karşılaşılan Deformasyonların Giderilmesi' (2017) and 'Agrega Katkılı Seramik Bünyelerin Araştırılması' (2012)
• Founding organization of the International Gizem Frit Ceramic Competition since 2010

She maintains active laboratory research in ceramic materials at Sakarya University's Ceramics Department facilities, collaborating with international institutions including the Art Academy of Latvia.
