Bud Hamilton is an Instructional Associate Professor of Management and Faculty Instructor at the University of Mississippi’s School of Business Administration, with a focus on teaching strategy, HR, and entrepreneurship-related courses primarily at Ole Miss regional campuses.
- Ph.D. in Business Administration (University of Georgia, 1997)
- B.B.A. in Management (California State University-Fullerton, 1985)
His research explores how technology-oriented startups can gain competitive advantage, franchising dynamics, ethical implications of Big Data, and strategic HR practices in the age of analytics. His recent work, Legal and Ethical Challenges for HR in Machine Learning, examines intersections of AI ethics and HR governance.
Scientific Awards:
- School of Business Teacher of the Year for undergraduate courses (2008)
Prior to Ole Miss, he taught at Georgia State University, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and University of Georgia, alongside roles as a consultant, urban mass transit budget manager, Congressional investigator on federal technology deployment, and HR director for a non-profit media company.
