Brytton Bjorngaard is an Associate Professor of Graphic Design at the Department of Art, Music, and Theatre at University of Illinois Springfield. Her work bridges commercial and fine art practices, exploring the contrast between traditional historical production methods and current digital trends.
- M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Iowa State University
- B.A. in Graphic Design with Minor in Media Communications from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota
Her research focuses on the presentation of self in society through digital communication, examining how identities are projected, edited, and misconstrued in the context of constant connectivity. She combines traditional techniques like letterpress and darkroom photography with modern digital tools.
Brytton is actively involved in institutional governance as a member of the Tenure Review Committee, CLASS Curriculum Committee, and Art & Acquisition Committee (Co-Chair). She also contributes to community development as Vice President of the Creative Reuse Marketplace, a nonprofit focused on job training and creative reuse initiatives.
