Dr. Bryn Tales is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at Teeside University’s School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law, affiliated with SACI - English. He joined in 2021 and holds a PhD from The University of Sheffield (2019), focusing on lyrical strategies in post-mining community narratives. His research explores ethnography, digital poetry, finance-literature intersections, experimental poetry, and archival methods.

Research Interests: Bryn’s work bridges auto-ethnography, digital generative poetry (collaborating with artist Rich Poole), and the socio-financial dimensions of literature (e.g., cryptocurrency, meme culture). He emphasizes experimental forms and archival practices in creative writing.
Teaching & Supervision: Bryn teaches Creative Writing and English Studies at BA/MA levels, focusing on inclusive pedagogy. He supervises PhD students Jilly Johannsen (poetic autoethnography) and Bryan Nyary. He is a Fellow of Advance HE, prioritizing student empowerment and risk-taking in creative practices.
