Bryn Lewis

Bryn Lewis is a distinguished musician and academic, currently serving as Harp Tutor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He has held the position of Principal Harpist with the London Symphony Orchestra since 1994, previously with the Philharmonia Orchestra and other leading ensembles. His roles span orchestral performance, solo recitals, and chamber music collaborations with groups like the Nash Ensemble and London Sinfonietta.

Education and training include studies with Jean Bell in Manchester and Renata Scheffel-Stein in London. His expertise in harp performance is complemented by solo premieres of works by composers such as Elliot Carter and Dimitri Smirnov, alongside acclaimed recordings for labels like Deutsche Grammophon and Hyperion.

Bryn’s career includes masterclasses in London, Rio de Janeiro, and Chicago, reflecting his commitment to music education. His performances and recordings emphasize classical repertoire, including notable interpretations of Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto and Britten’s Folk Songs.
