Bryce Blegen serves as Senior Lecturer and Regional Representative for the Americas at the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies, Charles Sturt University. He concurrently holds leadership roles as CEO of Trusted Trade Alliance LLC and Managing Director of the Trusted Trade Institute, leveraging 15+ years of senior compliance experience in multinational automotive and electronics manufacturing sectors across the US, Germany, and France.
His academic foundation includes university studies in Minnesota and Germany, culminating in a Juris Doctor and Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Denver. Admitted to US Federal and Illinois courts since 1990, he maintains active legal practice as Of Counsel to Chicago-based Page Fura P.C.
Mr. Blegen's research centers on global trade regulatory frameworks, with emphasis on import/export compliance systems, supply-chain security protocols, and cross-border process innovation. His fieldwork drives customs simplification initiatives across North America, Europe, and Asia through direct collaboration with government agencies and trade associations, positioning him as a leading voice in international trade facilitation discourse.
His professional leadership includes co-chairing the 2008 Brussels, 2010 Istanbul, and 2012 Sao Paolo World Customs Organization forums. He maintains active affiliations with the International Customs Law Academy and American Council on Germany, regularly delivering expert commentary on trade policy at international conferences throughout the US and Europe.
