Bryan McCloskey

Bryan McCloskey serves as Department Chair and Warren & Katharine Schlinger Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, with a joint appointment as Faculty Engineer at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Energy Storage and Distributed Resources Division. His research program explores electrochemical solutions for energy sustainability through advanced battery technologies.

Professor McCloskey's research focuses on fundamental and applied electrochemistry, with particular emphasis on:

• Next-generation solid-state battery architectures
• Metal-air battery systems for high-energy applications
• Fast-charging protocols for Li-ion batteries
• Low-temperature electrolyte formulations
• Earth-abundant cathode materials development
