Bryan Kieler is an Adjunct Professor in Community Development at the University of Detroit Mercy’s School of Architecture. He also holds adjunct roles at Walsh College (teaching finance and management graduate courses) and the DeVos School of Management at Northwood University (teaching financial management). Professionally, he serves as Senior Vice President and Michigan Market Manager for Community Development Banking at PNC Bank, overseeing $75M+ in loans for nonprofits in low-income communities and disability services. Previously, he held leadership positions at IFF and Huntington Bank in community development finance.

Research Interests: Bryan focuses on reducing nonprofit sector reliance on government grants through revenue diversification, applying the Malcolm Baldrige Framework for quality excellence. His work emphasizes strategic planning, organizational development, and leadership in community development contexts, particularly in financial structuring for underserved communities.
Advising & Grants: Bryan manages PNC’s community development lending and investments, including grants via their local foundation to strengthen nonprofits and communities in Michigan. At IFF, he facilitated $75M+ in loans for nonprofits. His advisory roles extend to board memberships at Midtown Detroit Inc., Accounting Aid Society, Haven of Oakland County, Starfish Family Services, Venture Inc., and an executive advisory role for Winning Futures.
Labs/Teams: Engaged with cross-organizational teams through his banking roles and board memberships, focusing on real estate solutions, tax credit portfolio management (e.g., LIHTC, NMTC), and strategic partnerships for community impact.
