Bruno Sinopoli

Bruno Sinopoli is the Department Chair and a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Electrical & Systems Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis's McKelvey School of Engineering. His work focuses on designing safe, secure, and resilient cyberphysical systems with applications to smart infrastructures and networked control systems.

• Education: PhD and MS from UC Berkeley, BS from Università di Padova (Italy)

His research emphasizes robust design of cyberphysical systems, distributed control, and wireless sensor/actuator networks. He co-directed Carnegie Mellon's Smart Infrastructure Institute and held appointments in Robotics and Mechanical Engineering before joining Washington University. He is affiliated with the Center for Trustworthy AI in CPS.

Notable recognitions include the 2010 George Tallman Ladd Award and NSF CAREER Award. He has led major initiatives like the MURI project on brain dynamics and reinforcement learning (2021).
