Bruno Langmeier

Bruno Langmeier is a Temporary Academic Councillor at the Chair of Ancient and Medieval Philosophy within the Institute of Philosophy at Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg's Faculty of Human Sciences. He specializes in Ancient Philosophy with particular expertise in Plato and Aristotle, while also engaging with 20th-century philosophy and Indian philosophical traditions.

His research interests span Ancient Philosophy, Medieval Philosophy, Political Philosophy, Ethics, 20th-century Philosophy, and Indian Philosophy. Langmeier's work demonstrates a strong focus on Aristotelian political thought, Platonic theology, and the intersection of philosophical ethics with theological considerations, particularly examining how Aristotelian virtue ethics interacts with Christian theological concepts.
