Bruce Yonemoto is a Professor in the Department of Art at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), affiliated with the Claire Trevor School of the Arts. His work bridges art and commerce, film, and cross-cultural practices. He holds an MFA from the Otis Art Institute and completed graduate studies at the Sokei Art Institute in Tokyo, Japan.
His research focuses on Video Art, Experimental Media, and Film Theory, with recent projects exploring intersections between art and phenomena such as growing glaciers in Argentina and Lacanian psychoanalysis. He has developed a Peruvian Quechua Opera with David Schweizer and created works in Vietnam, Taiwan, and Rio de Janeiro. Notable exhibitions include solo shows at the ICC (Tokyo), ICA (Philadelphia), St. Louis Art Museum, and Kemper Museum (Kansas City).
