Bruce Slatter is a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of School in the School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry at Curtin University. He holds a PhD in Art from RMIT University (2015), along with multiple advanced degrees from Curtin University, including a Master of Arts (2003) and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (2000). As Discipline Lead for Creative Arts, he oversees academic and creative programs within the school.

Slatter’s research and practice focus on sculpture, installation art, and public art. His installations frequently engage audiences through interactive or site-specific elements, emphasizing collaboration and community engagement.
His exhibitions include solo shows at Galerie Dusseldorf and group exhibitions in institutions like the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the RMIT Gallery. His works are part of major collections such as the Bankwest Art Collection and the Artbank.
Awards include the Bankwest Art Prize (2014), Siemens Fine Art Scholarship (2008), and the Sculpture by the Sea NAB WA Sculptors Scholarship (2007). His curatorial projects, such as Bruny18: Art of Adaptation (2018), highlight his expertise in interdisciplinary and community-focused art initiatives.
Slatter’s creative output spans over two decades, with notable works addressing environmental sustainability, urban landscapes, and material transformation. He maintains an active role in shaping contemporary art practices through teaching, exhibitions, and curatorial work.
