Bruce J. Schulman is the William E. Huntington Professor of History at Boston University, specializing in 20th-century U.S. history with a focus on political and cultural dynamics. He directs the Institute for American Political History, aiming to establish BU as a hub for political history studies through seminars, conferences, and collaborations with top universities.
Education: B.A., Yale University; M.A. and Ph.D., Stanford University. His career includes teaching roles at UCLA and Boston University, recognized by prestigious awards such as the Nancy Lyman Roelker Award for mentorship and the Charles and Harriet Luckman Distinguished Teaching Award.
Research interests span modern U.S. history, particularly the interplay between politics and cultural change. Notable publications include The Seventies (2001), Rightward Bound (2008), and Media Nation (2017). He has authored three books and edited six others, contributing to major historical dialogues on conservatism, constitutional policy, and presidential governance.
