Research combines theoretical modeling with experimental synthesis to develop chromophores that increase data transfer rates while reducing power consumption in photonic devices. Current work focuses on achieving five-fold improvements in electro-optic activity for terahertz-speed interconnects.
Publications demonstrate innovations in plasmonic-organic hybrid materials and molecular glass systems, with applications in silicon-organic hybrid photonics and low-power optical modulators.
Collaborates with Larry Dalton's group (chromophore synthesis), Christine Isborn (computational modeling), and engineering teams at ETH Zurich and KIT Karlsruhe for device implementation.
