معرفی
Bruce D. Uhal is a Professor in the Department of Physiology at Michigan State University (Biomed Phys Sci 567 Wilson Rd Room 3197, East Lansing MI 48824). His research focuses on lung epithelial stem cell function, regulation of epithelial apoptosis, and molecular mechanisms of lung fibrogenesis and repair.
- Education
- M.Sc. in Nutrition (1982), Ohio State University
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry (1987), Saint Louis University
- Postdoc in Cellular and Molecular Physiology (1990), Pennsylvania State University
His work explores angiotensin signaling in pulmonary fibrosis, viral persistence in Long COVID, and autoimmunity mechanisms in post-COVID complications. Recent publications analyze SARS-CoV-2 origin theories, stem cell therapies for BPD, and vaccine-related thrombosis risks.
Scientific Contributions include
- Elucidating angiotensin peptides as apoptosis inducers in lung fibrosis (since 1999)
- Modeling ACE2 autoimmunity in 2021
- Developing organoid systems for SARS-CoV-2 research (2021)
- Leading 2024 study on gut-lung axis in Long COVID
