Dr. Brooke Hayes is a Research Fellow in the Nucleic Acid Sensing Laboratory at Monash University, led by Dr. Gavin Knott. Her work focuses on CRISPR-Cas systems, particularly the RNA-targeting CRISPR-Cas13, aiming to develop diagnostic tools for point-of-care applications. She completed her PhD in Microbiology at Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, studying toxic proteins in Acinetobacter baumannii's Type VI Secretion System to combat antibiotic resistance.
