Brooke Fisher Liu is an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Maryland. Her research focuses on crisis and risk communication, particularly in digital/social media contexts, severe weather, and infectious disease. She has been funded by agencies like NOAA, DHS, and NSF, and co-founded the Journal of International Crisis and Risk Communication Research. Liu serves on editorial boards and advisory committees, including the FDA’s Risk Communication Advisory Committee and the National Academies’ SEAN.
