Bronwen Konecky is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, where she leads the Climate and Paleoclimate Laboratory. She holds a PhD from Brown University and investigates tropical climate variability across timescales using geochemical tools.
Her research integrates stable isotope hydrology, paleolimnology, and earth system modeling to understand how climate change affects tropical rainfall and ecosystems. Current projects focus on East African and Indonesian hydroclimatology, Andean climate reconstruction, and isotope-enabled climate modeling.
Konecky's publications predominantly analyze hydroclimate variability through geochemical proxies in lacustrine sediments, with recent work emphasizing biomarker applications, water isotope systematics, and paleoclimate model-data comparisons. Her articles frequently address tropical responses to volcanic forcing and orbital-scale climate drivers.
She received the Dean's Early-Career Research Award for her scholarly contributions. Fieldwork spans multiple continents including Uganda, Indonesia, Botswana, and Peru. No specific student advisees or grants are detailed in available documents.
