Bronte Charette is an Assistant Professor at the University of California Davis, focusing on designing transition metal complexes to mimic the catalytic activity of metalloenzymes. Her research integrates light-responsive ligands with electrochemical and spectroscopic techniques for energy conversion and chemical synthesis.
Education:
- B.Sc., University of Winnipeg (2014)
- M.Sc., University of Manitoba (2016)
- Ph.D., University of California Irvine (2021)
- Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2021-2023)
Research Interests center on inorganic and organic synthesis, metalloenzyme mimicry, and redox/photochemistry. Her work explores ligand-centered hydrogen transfer mechanisms and the influence of metal ions on reactivity.
Scientific Awards:
- Illinois Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship (2021)
- American Institute of Chemists Graduate Student Award (2021)
- NSERC Postgraduate Doctoral Fellowship (2018)
- UCI Most Promising Future Faculty (2020)
- UCI Outstanding Teaching Assistant (2017)
Current Work involves the Charette Lab at UC Davis, where she investigates transition metal-ligand systems using advanced synthesis and reactivity studies.
