Bronagh Murphy

Dr. Bronagh Murphy is a Teaching Fellow at the University of Strathclyde within the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry and the Centre for Forensic Science. She specializes in forensic analytical chemistry and laboratory sustainability, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in forensic science. As Laboratory Coordinator for the MSc Forensic Science program, she oversees practical modules like Essentials of Forensic Science and Forensic Chemistry.

• Education: PhD in Forensic Science (King's College London, 2019), MSc Forensic Science (King's College London, 2013), MSci Natural Sciences (University of Cambridge, 2011).
• Awards: 2022 Strathclyde Medal (Team Award) for academic excellence.

Research focuses on trace explosives, ignitable liquids, biofuel analysis, and sustainable laboratory practices. Current projects include monitoring bioethanol components in fuels and evaluating sustainability measures in forensic labs. She also investigates peer assessment methodologies in higher education through collaborative projects with colleagues.
