Brittney L. Tatchell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine and Dentistry (SMD). She holds a PhD in Anatomy from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (2023), an MA in Anthropology from Binghamton University (2010), and dual BAs in Biology and Anthropology from the University of Montana (2006).
Her research focuses on teaching and learning methods in anatomy education, emphasizing gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroanatomy, and osteology. She currently teaches HSF 110 (Human Structure and Function) and NAN 601 (Teaching Tutorial in Human Structure and Function).
Awards include the 2023 First Place Poster and 2022 Ralph Ger Platform Presentation Award. She has held prior roles at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Instructor of Anatomy/Medical Education), Ithaca College (Lecturer in Anthropology), and Binghamton University (Instructor of Record).
Her work extends to forensic anthropology and biological sciences, evidenced by contributions to books like *Kennewick Man: The Scientific Investigation of an Ancient American Skeleton* (2014) and *Written in Bone* series (2009).
