Dr. Britta Feyerabend is a scholar in American literature and cultural studies at the Department of English and Linguistics, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. She has taught in the American Studies department since 1999 and transitioned to administrative roles in 2013 while continuing to teach one class per semester.

Her research spans film studies, material culture, gender studies, and intersections of history and cultural anthropology. She focuses on auteurial filmmakers like Woody Allen, Tarantino, Scorcese, and Jarmusch, and explores quilting as a material culture lens for unwritten American history, particularly in women’s studies. Additional interests include African American literature, crime fiction, science fiction, and serialized novels.
