Brigitte Ars

Brigitte Ars is a Lecturer at the Academy for Tourism within Breda University of Applied Sciences. Her work focuses on innovative tourism practices, inclusive tourism strategies, and experiential learning platforms. She has led major EU-funded projects including Innoguide 2.0 (2014–2016), Revivak (2016–2019), and Newscat (2016–2018), collaborating with institutions across Europe to enhance cultural sensitivity, accessibility, and traditional craftsmanship preservation in tourism sectors.

Her research interests span adventure tourism psychology, cross-cultural communication in guiding, and the application of e-learning platforms for professional training. Recent work emphasizes accessibility improvements in regional destinations and the psychological impacts of adventurous travel experiences.

Brigitte has contributed to 4 key publications since 2010, exploring future tourism trends and inclusive service design. Her media engagements (Volkskrant, NRC) highlight her expertise in solo travel safety and experiential tourism innovation.

Current projects include Inclusive Aviation (2022–2025) addressing passenger accessibility and Toegankelijke bestemming Regio RVN@ focusing on regional accessibility frameworks. She collaborates actively with industry partners like NHL Stenden and CELTH on applied tourism solutions.
