Briggs Buchanan is Professor and Chair of Anthropology & Sociology at the Kendall College of Arts & Sciences (University of Tulsa). His research focuses on human paleoecology, examining early human societies in North America through stone tool analysis, statistical modeling, and evolutionary approaches.
- Ph.D. from University of New Mexico
Specializing in hunter-gatherer adaptation and technological evolution, he investigates how small-scale societies created cultural diversity while responding to late Pleistocene environmental changes. His quantitative methods include experimental archaeology and complex systems analysis.
