Brienne A. Adams is an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University’s Department of Black Studies within the College of Arts and Sciences. Her work bridges Black feminisms, queer theory, and affect theory to analyze digital fandom and knowledge production.

Her research examines how Black audiences use social media to construct affective worlds and public intimacy, focusing on series like Insecure and The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. She contributes to Black digital humanities and anti-racist critical digital studies.
Dr. Adams was a 2019-2020 AADHum Scholar and has participated in digital humanities institutes at the University of Florida, Dartmouth College, and the University of Michigan. She has presented at major conferences including the American Studies Association (ASA) and the Society for Cinema and Media Studies (SCMS).
