Brien Walton is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of the Richard E. Dyke Center for Family Business at Husson University's College of Business. He holds a JD from the University of D.C., an EdD in Organizational Learning Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania (with a Wharton concentration in Leadership Development), an M.S. in Workforce Development (UPenn), an M.A. in Educational Technologies (Harvard), and an LLM in Taxation (Georgetown).
Appointed to Maine’s Venture Fund Board, Dr. Walton specializes in strategic economic development and structured finance. He chairs Acadia Capital Management, advising municipalities on poverty reduction and sustainable growth. With 15+ years of teaching experience, he integrates real-world entrepreneurship into curricula, emphasizing critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and business acumen.
His teaching philosophy focuses on fostering empathy, nonlinear problem-solving, and entrepreneurial mindset through hands-on projects like analyzing marketing strategies and crafting business plans.
