Brianne Stambaugh

Brianne Stambaugh is an Associate Professor of Spanish and Chair of the World Languages department at Covenant College since 2014. She holds a PhD in Spanish and Applied Linguistics from the University of Alabama, along with an MA in the same fields and a BA in Teaching English as a Second Language & Spanish from Union University.

Her research focuses on Second Language Acquisition, Foreign Language Teaching Methodology, Sociolinguistics, and Hispanic Communities in the United States. Recent work emphasizes innovative pedagogical approaches such as podcast-integrated conversation training, sports-themed language engagement, and digital storytelling in grammar instruction.

Dr. Stambaugh actively participates in professional conferences, presenting at the Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese Annual Conference (2022, 2019) and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (2021, 2018). Her teaching philosophy emphasizes community connection and practical application of language skills, both locally and globally.
