Brianna Ryan

Brianna Ryan is a Lecturer in the School of Education within the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice at Queensland University of Technology. Her academic work focuses on teacher education with particular expertise in relationships and sex education.

Her research interests center on inclusive educational practices, particularly regarding gender and sexual diversity in primary education settings. Ryan examines how pre-service teachers engage with and implement relationships and sex education curricula that address diverse identities and experiences.

Ryan's recent publication analyzes pre-service teachers' experiences in a core Bachelor of Education unit focused on teaching about relationships and sex education for and about sex, gender and sexual diversity. This work contributes to understanding how future primary educators develop competence and confidence in delivering inclusive sexuality education.

Ryan works within QUT's education framework that prepares teachers to address contemporary educational challenges with particular attention to diversity and inclusion in Australian classrooms.
