Dr. Briana Taylor is a Research Assistant Professor at the Roux Institute and in the Department of Psychology at Northeastern University. Her research focuses on leveraging modifiable features of sleep and circadian rhythms to improve daytime functioning, emphasizing rhythm stability and alignment in neurodevelopmental disorders like autism. She earned her PhD in Biological and Health Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and completed postdoctoral training at MaineHealth.
Her work utilizes non-invasive, 24-hour ambulatory tools to enhance ecological validity in sleep science, particularly for populations unable to tolerate traditional methodologies. Current projects investigate circadian phase mechanisms in autism-related behaviors and develop computational approaches for sleep data analysis.
Dr. Taylor received the Pathway to Independence Award from the NICHD during her postdoctoral fellowship. She is an active member of the Sleep Research Society and the International Society for Autism Research.
