He holds a B.A. from the University of Missouri (1998), M.A. from the University of Kansas (2003), and Ph.D. from UCLA (2011). His research focuses on Latin literature, especially Cicero and the late Roman Republic, with expertise in classical reception and translation studies.
Walters' work examines political discourse in Ciceronian Rome, metaphorical language in ancient texts, and classical translation. He teaches courses on Roman civilization, material culture, and Neronian literature.
