Brian Vaccaro teaches applied guitar instruction at Washington University in St. Louis. An experienced jazz guitarist and educator, he received the 2010 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award from St. Louis Community College for teaching excellence. Vaccaro's research focuses on guitar pedagogy and performance practices across jazz, classical, and rock genres.
As Executive Director of St. Louis Classical Guitar, he promotes guitar education through community engagement. Vaccaro holds performance degrees from Webster University (B.M.) and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (M.M.), studying with prominent jazz educators.
