Brian Tissue, an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Tech's College of Science, specializes in molecular absorbance/fluorescence, solid-state luminescence, and inorganic nanoparticle synthesis. Recent work includes developing microgels for heavy metal removal and studying methanol interactions with TiO₂ nanoparticles. He also authored Basics of Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Equilibria (2013), a widely used textbook.
