Brian S. Harvey

Brian S. Harvey serves as a Professorial Lecturer in Law at The George Washington University Law School, bringing over four decades of active legal practice in Washington, D.C. since 1982 to his full-time academic role.

Mr. Harvey's expertise centers on litigation, employment law, labor law, and alternative dispute resolution. Following judicial clerkships with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, he spent 28 years as an associate and partner at a major law firm. Since 2009, he has specialized as a full-time neutral providing arbitration and mediation services, directly informing his practical teaching approach in dispute resolution mechanisms and litigation strategy.
