Brian Peters

Brian Peters serves as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at Concordia University, Nebraska, teaching Introduction to Law Enforcement while concurrently leading as Chief of Police for Seward, Nebraska. His dual roles bridge academic theory with frontline operational expertise in criminal justice systems.

With 28 years of law enforcement experience, his career includes:

• Five years with Columbus Police Department
• One year with Nebraska Department of Corrections
• Nine years with University of Nebraska Police Department
• Thirteen years with Seward Police Department (serving as both Chief and Assistant Chief)

As a certified Nebraska law enforcement officer, Peters emphasizes practical application of scientific perspectives to analyze local and global crime responses within Concordia's undergraduate curriculum.
