Brian M. Eiss, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University, and an Assistant Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He specializes in geriatric medicine and internal medicine, with a focus on quality improvement, patient safety, and elderly care. His roles include clinical practice at the Weill Cornell Internal Medicine Associates and the Irving Sherwood Wright Center on Aging, as well as teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Eiss holds board certifications in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Education: M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine (2008); B.A. from University of Pennsylvania (2004). He completed his internal medicine residency and geriatric fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Research interests include optimizing patient care through initiatives like the multidisciplinary “discharge timeout” to reduce readmissions. He is actively involved in medical education, delivering lectures on geriatric medicine and advocating for expanded geriatrics training in residency programs.
Awards include the Hartford Foundation Scholar recognition and the Employee CARE Award for patient care excellence. He has presented on topics such as sleep in elderly populations and healthy aging, contributing to community outreach efforts.
