Professor Brian Littlechild is a distinguished academic at the University of Hertfordshire’s School of Health and Social Work, specializing in Social Work. He holds a Visiting Professorship at the University of Ostrava and has been awarded Dr. Honoris Causa by the same institution. His research focuses on mental health, child protection, violence against staff, and ethical research practices.
Prof. Littlechild has supervised over 30 research projects and 9 PhD teams, with 5 successful completions. He has authored/co-authored 46 books and chapters, and 31 refereed articles. Key contributions include the 2018 UK Social Work Research Strategy and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines on violence management in healthcare settings.
